With the vacation crowds and technical issues surrounding the Walt Disney World Resort, customer service lines wrap around the entrance to Magic Kingdom!
It’s no surprise that Disney World is very busy right now. Until school resumes, many of the guests are here on vacation, meaning that even with a capacity limit (which is currently unknown), guests end up in massive crowds. On top of that, we see other technical issues coming up with guests using or trying Disney Genie.
The Disney Genie system allows Guests to have their day planned by the Genie in Aladdin! Well, really, is this a scheduled add-on to the My Disney Experience app that gives guests suggestions based on their location on what to do next. That being said, sometimes these suggestions weren’t good options, as some guests had been directed to attractions with “lower” wait times in the past, which ended up going over 60 minutes. At Disneyland, the entire system also broke on day one, allowing it to start more slowly to attract guests.
Disney Genie also has Disney Genie +! For $ 15.00 per person per day at Disney World, you can skip one queue at a time by booking your reservation for the Lightning Lane line, which is the new FastPass queue. You can only book one reservation at a time or one every hour, but remember to start early in the morning as we saw attractions sell out at the Lightning Lane spots by mid-afternoon!
As we’ve reported in the past, some guests want to see Disney Genie completely shut down as they’ve noted suggestions are ruining their experience and hampering their plans, and now it looks like more and more complaints keep rolling in. the Magic team is currently on vacation at Walt Disney World, and while trying to use Disney Genie for the first time, we noticed that out of four phones, only two are working properly when it comes to Disney Genie.
We are having issues purchasing Disney Genie + for two guests, and we also cannot make ride selections for attractions for those who may have purchased Disney Genie +. Second, some My Disney Experience apps as a whole don’t work properly because we can’t see the wait times.
Now we are seeing huge queues at Magic Kingdom customer service. While this could be for a variety of reasons, given that Disney Genie is seemingly constantly causing a problem for guests, it is possible that multiple people online are there to troubleshoot issues they are having on the My Disney Experience app.
We have now received a message that there is a problem with the Disney account system on the Disney WiFi network.
