MidAtlantic Farm Credit recently announced the hiring of Karen Swecker as Senior Vice President, Manager of Lending Operations. She will be based at the Association’s office in Winchester, Virginia.
“We are delighted that Karen is returning to MidAtlantic to lead our credit operations team,” said Tom Truitt, CEO of MidAtlantic Farm Credit. “His 15 years of experience with agricultural credit and his industry expertise will be of use to our association and our members, both in good and bad.
In his role as Loan Operations Manager, Swecker will lead all team functions related to loan creation and management including: underwriting, credit administration, documentation, quality control , loan reservation, financing, and ongoing account setup and maintenance.
“Farm credit is a special place with special people – both staff and customers,” Swecker says. “I hope to leverage a strong team, relationships and passion for agriculture to improve existing business solutions and support new solutions for our members. We live in a new world, with an increased need for flexibility in the provision of products and services. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of our members in their interactions with agricultural credit. ”
Swecker, a resident of Winchester, Va., Grew up on a commercial cow / calf operation. She attended Virginia Tech for her undergraduate degrees and James Madison University for her Masters of Business Administration. Swecker worked in sales and management at MidAtlantic Farm Credit from 2005 to 2017, and as a relationship manager at AgFirst Farm Credit Bank from 2017 to 2020.
