I just applied for the brand new World of Hyatt Business credit card and was pleasantly surprised with the results.

My Hyatt business card request

A few days ago, Chase and Hyatt launched the new World of Hyatt business card, and I decided to apply:

  • The card offers a huge bonus of 75,000 World of Hyatt points after spending $ 7,500 in three months (I rate World of Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each, so for me this bonus is worth $ 1,125)
  • You are eligible for this card (including the bonus) even if you already have the World of Hyatt (Avis) credit card, which is the personal version of the card
  • Although Chase business cards are subject to the 5/24 rule (which means you will not be approved if five or more new cards appear on your personal credit report in the past 24 months), opening a business card ” a Chase business card does not count as an additional card towards this limit (because the account being opened will not appear on your personal credit report this way)

I have decided to submit my application. To be honest, I didn’t expect to get instant approval because I don’t think I ever got instant approval on a Chase business card (although I still got approved at the end).

Well imagine my surprise when I applied and got instantly approved, with a huge credit limit on top of that!

How cool! I may have been lucky, although I personally think this card might be a bit easier to approve than Chase’s Ink cards. Why? Co-brand agreements usually come with different standards in terms of the customers they target, and historically some Chase cards have been easier to approve than others.

So I’ll be expecting more data points, although I personally think the Hyatt business card might be easier to approve than Chase’s excellent trio of Ink cards, which includes the Ink Business Preferred® credit card ( exam), Ink Business Cash® Credit Card (exam), and Ink Business Unlimited® credit card (exam).

My strategy with the Hyatt Business Card

The World of Hyatt business card is not the same obvious as the personal version of the card. There is no annual free night certificate, and no Elite nights towards status just to get the card. I am still in the process of deciding how this card will fit into my long term card wallet. Here is my strategy for the moment:

  • For now, I will start spending on the card to earn the welcome bonus, which is definitely worth it
  • The main benefit of this card is that you can earn Elite nights at a rapid rate with spending, but I’m at almost 220 Elite nights with World of Hyatt for 2021 so there is no additional value for me to spend more on the card, since I have already won all World of Hyatt Milestone Rewards
  • In early 2022, I’ll be deciding what exactly I’m going to do with this card, based on my travel plans for the year, and what World of Hyatt is doing with the elite requirements; if i need elite nights spending by credit card, the Hyatt Business card can get some of my spending
  • I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw offers and promotions specifically targeted at the Hyatt Business Card, which could more than justify the annual fee.
  • Although the card has an annual fee of $ 199, it offers $ 100 in Hyatt credits per year, so by my calculations this card is really costing me less than $ 100 per year, which is not a huge amount. to spend to essentially “try” a card with a big bonus

At the end of the line

The World of Hyatt Business credit card was recently launched and offers an excellent bonus of 75,000 World of Hyatt points. While the card isn’t quite the slam dunk in terms of value I was hoping for, I’m certainly happy to try it – the bonus is great and the card could come in handy in earning elite status. long-term .

I was surprised to be instantly approved for this card, as I don’t think I have ever received instant approval on a Chase business card before. It makes me think (pending more data points) that this card might be easier to approve than Chase’s Ink business cards. I’m curious if other readers have a similar experience.

If you applied for the World of Hyatt business card, were you lucky enough to get instant approval as well?
