Upcoming House Financial Services Committee Hearings to Include Discussions on PSPCs, AI, Big Banks and More


the Chamber of Financial Services Committee released the May 2021 hearing schedule which covers a wide range of financial services issues.

As has been previously reported, this next Thursday (May 6), starting at 12:00 p.m. ET, will once again see the discussed GameStop phenomenon. The Committee of the Whole will meet for a virtual hearing entitled: “Game stopped? Who Wins and Loses When Short Sellers, Social Media, and Retail Investors Collide, Part III. “

The next day (May 7) at 12 p.m. ET, the AI ​​Working Group will meet for a virtual hearing titled: “Fair Algorithms: How Human-Centered AI Can Address Systemic Racism and Racial Justice in Housing and Financial Services.”

On May 24 at noon (ET), the Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets Subcommittee will meet for a virtual hearing titled “Going public: PSPC, direct listings, public offerings and the need to protect investors.

Towards the end of the month, on May 27 at noon (ET), the Committee of the Whole will meet for a virtual hearing titled “Holding Megabanks Accountable: An Update on Banking Practices, Programs and Policies”

All hearings will be webcast live on the Committee’s website.
